Clinical Test Configuration
These standardized protocols ensure your test results are reproducible and comparable for clinical research. All parameters follow established clinical standards.

Reminder times can be customized per medication in the medication details page. Default times: QHS (10pm), BID (8am, 8pm), TID (8am, 2pm, 8pm), QID (8am, 12pm, 4pm, 8pm).
Visual Acuity Test Settings
Display the Snellen fraction (e.g., 20/40) during testing. Disabled by default to prevent biasing results.
Note: The test automatically adapts to your screen's capabilities, testing only letter sizes that can be accurately displayed (20/800 to 20/15 range).
Display diagnostics unavailable: Please calibrate your screen first.

Amsler Grid Protocol
📊 Research Standardization & Visual Angles
Why visual angles matter: Clinical protocols specify stimuli in degrees of visual angle, not physical millimeters. This ensures tests produce comparable results regardless of viewing distance or screen size.
How it works: When you calibrate your screen, we calculate the exact physical sizes (in mm) needed to achieve the standard visual angles at YOUR distance. For example:
- MAIA protocol: 0.43° stimulus (Goldmann III) = 2.5mm at 330mm OR 3.0mm at 400mm
- Amsler Grid: 20° field = 116mm at 330mm OR 141mm at 400mm
For research: When publishing, cite the protocol name (e.g., "MAIA Standard Protocol") and your viewing distance. All test results automatically save configuration metadata for full reproducibility.
