Amsler Grid Test
A quick way to monitor your central vision for changes. This test helps detect distortions, blind spots, or wavy lines that may indicate macular problems (AMD, diabetic eye disease, or macular pucker).
What to look for:
Normal Grid
Straight lines
Problem Examples
Wavy, blurry, or missing
Instructions:
- • Cover one eye and look directly at the center dot
- • While staring at the dot, notice if any grid lines appear wavy, blurry, or missing
- • Tap on any problem areas you notice
- • Repeat for the other eye
⚠️Using Default Calibration
Assumptions:
- Viewing distance: 330mm (~13 inches)
- Screen PPI: ~96 (standard desktop monitor)
For research-quality results, calibrate your screen in the Visual Acuity section first.
